Unlike paint, epoxy floor coatings cure rather than dry. They are also resistant to staining and are chemical- and abrasion-resistant. Thus, they are long-lasting with no maintenance.
With epoxy coatings, you will require a professional installer and a higher-quality product. No surface preparation is involved with floor paints whereas epoxy coatings are applied in a multistep process beginning with diamond grinding of the substrate. This ensures that the concrete is porous in order for the coating to penetrate the substrate.
